On the initiative of the leadership of the Azerbaijan Kickboxing Federation, kickboxing friendly meets continue in various regions of the country. As part of this series, another friendly meet took place on 26 July 2026 at the Mübarizlər Sports Club in the settlement of Xocəsən. It was organised by the RM Sports Club and its head coach Tural Cavadov.
The opening ceremony began with the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs who gave their lives for the freedom, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the homeland.
Before the bouts, the chief referee of the meet, WAKO World and European champion Elşad Ələsgərov, held a short seminar for the athletes on competition rules, scoring, sports ethics and safety rules. The seminar was aimed in particular at helping beginners understand the rules better and prepare properly for official competitions.
About 50 athletes representing the RM, Mübarizlər, Qələbə, Zülfüqar and Xocəvənd sports clubs took part in the friendly meet.
The main purpose of such meets is to support the development of beginner athletes, build their competition experience, speed up their adaptation to the official competition environment and strengthen their self-confidence.
