On 9 July 2026, a mass kickboxing event was held at the Nəsimi Culture and Recreation Park in Sumqayıt as part of the "İdman hamı üçün" ("Sport for All") project. It was organised by the Abşeron-Xızı Regional Department of Youth and Sports with the support of the Azerbaijan Kickboxing Federation.
The main aim of the project was to increase interest in kickboxing among children, adolescents and young people, to promote a healthy lifestyle and to further broaden mass participation in sport.
Əli Hüseynov, European champion among cadets and WAKO World champion among men, took part in the event together with about 40 boys and girls of the ZƏRBƏ Kickboxing Club, who gave demonstration performances. The head coach of the ZƏRBƏ sports club is Elnur Piriyev.
The Azerbaijan Kickboxing Federation consistently supports projects of this kind aimed at developing kickboxing in the country, raising the young generation in a healthy spirit and promoting sport among the wider public. The federation regards the Sumqayıt event as another contribution to the development of kickboxing.
