On 7 June 2026 the Qızıl Qartal Sports Club Open Championship for juniors and cadets is being held at the Qusar Olympic Sports Complex. The competition is organised jointly by the Quba-Xaçmaz Regional Department of Youth and Sports and Qızıl Qartal Sports Club, with the support of the Azerbaijan Kickboxing Federation.
A total of 152 athletes from 19 clubs representing different regions of the country, including 17 girls, are competing in the tournament. Bouts take place on 1 ring and 1 tatami and are run by a refereeing team of 12 referees.
Beyond deciding the winners, the competition is important for giving young athletes more competition experience, developing their skills and discovering future champions.
One of the main goals of the Azerbaijan Kickboxing Federation is to further develop kickboxing in the regions, make it more widespread, involve juniors and young people in a healthy lifestyle and raise their interest in sport. Competitions like this make an important contribution to the development of sport in the regions, to the useful organisation of young people's free time and to the discovery of new talent.
