On 5–6 September 2026, a kickboxing tournament dedicated to the cherished memory of the martyrs of the Patriotic War was held at the Balaxanı Sports Hall.
The competition for juniors and cadets was held by the “Vətən” Sports Club with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the organisational support of the Azerbaijan Kickboxing Federation. 140 athletes from 15 clubs took part. The athletes competed for victory in the ring and tatami sections across various weight and age categories.
The main aim of the tournament was to honour the memory of the martyrs who gave their lives for the freedom and territorial integrity of our homeland, to pass on the story of their heroism to the younger generation and to further strengthen the patriotic spirit among athletes.
The competition was organised by Anar Heydərquliyev, director of the “Vətən” Sports Club, and the chief referee was Elşən İsayev.
In the club medal standings, first place went to the “Şərur_Sebra” sports club, second to “Şəhid İman və Bəhram” and third to “Komanda”.
