The Open Championship of the "Şəhid Çobanov Orxan Sports Club", dedicated to the 108th anniversary of the founding of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has been successfully completed. The competition took place on 5 July 2026 at the Xaçmaz Olympic Sports Complex, with the opening ceremony scheduled for 11:00.
The championship was organised jointly by the Quba-Xaçmaz Regional Department of Youth and Sports, the Xaçmaz District Police Department and the "Şəhid Çobanov Orxan Sports Club", with the support of the Azerbaijan Kickboxing Federation.
According to figures the federation published before the competition, 287 athletes – 252 boys and 35 girls – representing 28 sports clubs were to compete, and the bouts were to be officiated by a panel of 3 chief referees and 15 referees. At the end of the competition, the best athletes were awarded medals and diplomas.
The main aims of the event were the development of kickboxing, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle among young people, the strengthening of patriotic spirit and the wide promotion of the slogan "Kickboxing against drug addiction and juvenile crime!".
