On 3 April 2026, during the visit of WAKO (World Association of Kickboxing Organizations) President Roy Baker to Azerbaijan, a meeting was held with Adil Əliyev, honorary president of the Azerbaijan Kickboxing Federation and head of the Suraxanı District Executive Authority, and Orxan Əliyev, president of the Azerbaijan Kickboxing Federation.
During the meeting, the parties held a broad exchange of views on the current state of kickboxing in Azerbaijan, its development prospects and the local and international competitions planned for the coming period.
In his remarks, Roy Baker praised the achievements of Azerbaijan in kickboxing in recent years, noting that the country has become one of the leading centres of the sport's development in the region. He highlighted the projects carried out by the federation and the work done, commended the successes of Azerbaijani athletes on the international stage and expressed confidence that cooperation would expand further in the future.
The meeting also addressed involving young people in sport, organising international tournaments in Azerbaijan and the federation's more active participation in global projects.
